Ruby Asia Bus Services

Charter Bus & Scheduled Services

These terms apply to all bus charter services, scheduled tours, and transportation services operated by Ruby Asia Travel & Tours.

For group bookings, the contract signatory accepts these terms on behalf of all passengers.

Booking & Payments

  • Reservations: Require 30% deposit. Full payment due 14 days before service for charters, 7 days for scheduled tours.
  • Capacity: Maximum seating as per vehicle registration. Standing passengers prohibited by law.
  • Route Changes: Final route must be confirmed 48hrs prior. Additional km charged at LKR 150/km.
  • Driver Hours: Strict adherence to 8hrs driving/12hrs duty limits per day. Overnight rest required.

Cancellation Policy

Standard Cancellations

  • 30+ days before: Full refund minus 5% admin fee
  • 15-29 days before: 50% refund
  • 8-14 days before: 25% refund
  • 0-7 days before: No refund

Force Majeure

  • Full credit for future travel if cancelled due to:
  • - Government travel restrictions
  • - Natural disasters
  • - Civil unrest
  • - Vehicle safety recalls

Passenger Conduct

  • Seatbelts must be worn when vehicle is moving
  • No alcohol consumption without prior arrangement
  • Smoking/vaping strictly prohibited
  • Damage to bus interiors will incur repair charges + 25% service fee
  • Driver has authority to remove disruptive passengers

Luggage Policy

  • 1 suitcase (20kg) + 1 carry-on per passenger
  • Oversized items (bikes, etc.) require prior approval
  • No hazardous materials (gas, chemicals, etc.)
  • Lost/damaged luggage liability limited to LKR 10,000 per item

Special Services

  • Wheelchair-accessible buses: 72hr advance notice required
  • Child seats: Available at LKR 1,500/day rental
  • Tour guide seats: Reserved upon request
  • Cooler boxes: LKR 2,000/day with ice provided

Service Guarantees

  • All buses air-conditioned with emergency exits
  • 24/7 mechanical support during trips
  • First aid kits on all vehicles
  • GPS-tracked for safety

Delays due to traffic/weather dont qualify for refunds. Minimum 2hr airport buffer recommended.
